Rice pudding

Ingredients

  • 150g basmati rice  (Eurico)
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 750ml whole milk
  • 200ml fresh cream (Elmlea)
  • 120g sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 50g golden raisins
  • 1 knob butter (Valio)
  • pinch of cinnamon for serving

Method

Start by cooking the rice in boiling water for approximately 20 minutes or until almost done. Drain away any extra water, then add in the milk, cream, sugar and bring to the boil. Reduce the heat and cook for a further 10 minutes. Remove off the heat, stir in the vanilla and egg yolk followed by the butter and raisins. Serve in glasses sprinkled with cinnamon.

  • 150g ross basmati
  • kwart ta’ kuċċarina melħ
  • 750ml ħalib
  • 200ml krema friska
  • 120g zokkor
  • isfar ta’ bajda
  • mgħarfa essenza tal-vanilja
  • 50g żbib jew sultanas
  • Butir mhux mielaħ
  • Kannella

Method

Ibda billi ssajjar ir-ross fl-ilma jagħli għal madwar 20 minuta jew sakemm ikun kważi lest. Saffi kwalunkwe ilma żejjed, imbagħad żid il-ħalib, il-krema, iz-zokkor u ħallih jagħli. Naqqas in-nar u sajjar għal 10 minuti oħra. Neħħi minn fuq in-nar, żid u ħawwad il-vanilja u l-isfar tal-bajd segwit mill-butir u ż-żbib. Servi fit-tazzi bil-kannella mferrxa fil-wiċċ.
