For the cake pops

  • 500g sponge, crumbled
  • 100g buttercream
  • Melted chocolate (Novi)
  • Coloured sprinkles

  • 1 fancy card box
  • 1 piece fresh oasis soaked in water
  • 1 large piece plastic sheet
  • Fresh flowers and foliage

To make the cake pops, mix together the crumbled sponge and butter cream in an electric mixer until it forms a smooth dough like consistency. Form into balls and freeze for 15-20 minutes. When ready, dip your cake pops sticks into melted chocolate and stick into the cake pops to hold. They will set immediately. Next, dip them into chocolate, shake off the excess and cover with sprinkles. Allow to set by sticking into a piece of gablo.

Meanwhile, prepare the box. Line with a sheet of plastic, fit in the soaked oasis and press in firmly. Cut off any excess plastic. Fill the box with fresh flowers and foliage and then finally place in the set cake pops amongst the flowers.  Add on a sugar name tag and it is ready to give to your mother.
