Chocolate chip and peanut butter cookies

Ingredients

  • 320g plain flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp bicarbonate of soda
  • 2 tbsp. milk powder (Regilait)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 110g butter
  • 200g peanut butter
  • 100g caster sugar
  • 200g dark brown sugar
  • 2 eggs plus 1 yolk
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 300g chocolate chips

Method

Sieve together flour, salt, baking powder and bicarbonate together into a large bowl then stir in the milk powder. Meanwhile melt the butter in a large saucepan and whisk in the peanut butter and allow to cool down. Stir in the sugars, eggs and vanilla. Gradually stir in the flour mixture and the chocolate chips. Take spoonfuls of the mixture and place onto baking trays lined with baking paper.

Press to flatten slightly and bake in a pre heated oven at 170°C for 12-14  minutes or until the cookies are golden brown.

  • kuċċarina bikarbonat tas-soda
  • 2 imgħaref trab tal-ħalib
  • kuċċarina melħ
  • 110g butir
  • 200g butir tal-karawett
  • 100g zokkor
  • 200g zokkor ismar skur
  • 2 bajdiet u isfar ta’ bajda
  • 2 kuċċarini essenza tal-vanilja
  • 300g biċċiet taċ-ċikkulata

Method

Għarbel flimkien id-dqiq, il-melħ, it-trab tal-ħami u l-bikarbonat fi skutella kbira, mbagħad żid u ħawwad it-trab tal-ħalib. Sadanittant dewweb il-butir f’kazzola kbira u ħawwad miegħu il-butir tal-karawett u ħallih jiksaħ. Żid u ħawwad iz-zokkor, il-bajd u l-vanilja. Ħawwad gradwalment it-taħlita tad-dqiq u l-biċċiet taċ-ċikkulata. Ħu kuċċarini mit-taħlita u poġġihom fuq dixx tal-ħami miksija bil-karta tal-ħami. Agħfas biex tiċċattja ftit u aħmi ġo forn imsaħħan minn qabel f’temperatura ta’ 170°C għal 12-14-il minuta jew sakemm il-cookies isiru kulur kannella dehbi.
