Shortbread jam and chocolate hearts

Ingredients

For the shortbread
220g unsalted butter (Lakeland)
200g caster sugar
1 egg, beaten (Coccodi)
2 tsp vanilla extract
400g plain flour

You will also need
200g milk chocolate, melted (Novi milk)
3 tbsp strawberry jam (Mackays)
Coloured sprinkle to decorate

Method

Beat the sugar and butter together till light, then stir in the beaten egg and vanilla. Next stir in the flour and form into a dough and chill for 15 minutes. When ready, roll out and cut into hearts and hearts with a hole in the middle. Place onto a baking tray and bake at 180`c for 12-15 minutes. Allow to cool then sandwich together with the strawberry jam and half dip into the melted chocolate. Decorate with sprinkles and allow the chocolate to set.
