Ingredients

Cake

  • 100g flour (Lamb brand)
  • 25g dark cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 4 eggs (Le Naturelle)
  • 150g caster sugar (Lamb brand)
  • 1 spoon vegetable oil
  • 2 spoons milk powder (Regilait)
  • 2 spoons Greek yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon red vinegar
  • 1 spoon Red food colouring
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence

Frosting 

  • 225g cream cheese
  • 60g butter (Valio)
  • 50g icing sugar (Lamb brand)
  • Vanilla essence

Method

Red velvet cake:

Sift together the flour, cocoa, baking powder and the salt. Whisk together the eggs, sugar, vegetable oil, & milk powder. Whisk in the yogurt, vinegar, vanilla & food colouring. Fold in the flour mixture into a batter.  Spread mixture onto a rectangular oven cookie tray lined with baking paper.  Bake at 175°C for approx. 10 minutes.

Cream cheese frosting:

Beat all the frosting ingredients together.
