Penne vodka cream

Ingredients

  • 150g gammon
  • 1 red onion
  • 1 tbsp tomato puree
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 200g tomato pulp (Mutti)
  • 1 chilly red small
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 2 shots glass vodka
  • 1/2 cup fresh cream (Benna)
  • 200 penne (De Cecco)

Method

Dice the onion and gammon, chop the garlic and chilly than simmer in olive oil until softened, now add the sugar tomato concentrate mix well. Once the sugar starts to caramelize pour in the vodka and simmer until the alcohol evaporates. Pour in the cream and simmer until thickened, meanwhile boil the penne in salted boiling water and add the pasta al dente to the sauce, simmer with the pasta in and add some water used to boil the pasta if sauce is too dry.

  • mgħarfa pure tat-tadam
  • 2 sinniet tewm
  • 200g polpa tat-tadam
  • ‘chillie’ żgħir
  • mgħarfa zokkor
  • 2 grokkijiet vodka
  • nofs kikkra krema friska
  • 200g penne
