Beer battered Brie wedges

Ingredients

  • 1 round Brie cheese (President)
  • 1 egg
  • 3 tbsp flour
  • 1 bottle pale ale beer
  • Pinch of salt
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • Ice-cream lolly pop sticks
  • Vegetable oil for deep frying
  • Cranberry sauce for dipping
 

Method

Beat the egg with a pinch of salt. Whisk in the flour into a thick batter, Pour in the beer to dilute into the required thickness. Cut the cheese into 6 wedges and roll into seasoned flour. Pierce the cheese wedges with ice cream lolly pop sticks, dip into the beer batter and deep fry until crispy and golden.
