Beef fillet with spiced garlic and herb butter
Ingredients
For the spiced garlic and herb butter
- 100g butter, softened
- 5 cloves garlic, crushed
- 1 tbsp chopped fresh mixed herbs
- 1 tsp curry powder
You will also need
- 2 thick fillet steaks
- 2 cloves garlic, crushed
- Coarse fresh black pepper and sea salt
- 1 tbsp olive oil
Method
Start with the spiced garlic and herb butter. Place all the ingredients in a bowl and mix together. Lay a piece of aluminium foil on the work surface and lay the blended butter in a line along the foil. Roll the butter in the foil into a cylinder, tighten at both ends and place in the fridge to set. Next, place the fillet steaks into a deep plate and rub in the garlic, coarse black pepper, sea salt and olive oil and allow to infuse for 30 minutes. When ready to cook, heat your barbeque and cook the fillet steaks on both sides to your liking. Serve with thick slices of the prepared butter on top.
