Baked chocolate and oat pudding with dates

Ingredients

  • 500g Scottish porridge oats (Tesco)
  • 1 litre chocolate milk (Benna)
  • 200g dates
  • Juice and zest of an orange
  • ½ glass water
  • 2 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 ½ tsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp mixed spice
  • 1 apple, peeled , cored and diced
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar, plus extra
  • 50g walnuts, chopped (Tesco)
  • 2 tbsp pumpkin seeds, plus extra (Tesco)
  • 2 tbsp sunflower seeds, plus extra (Tesco)

Method

Start this recipe by soaking the oats overnight in a bowl with the milk. The next day, cook together the dates, orange juice and ½ glass water for 3-4 minutes until soft and place into a bowl. Mix in the 2 eggs and mashed bananas. Add in all the remaining ingredients, including the oats soaked in chocolate. Turn into a greased oven dish and spread out evenly. Sprinkle over the extra pumpkin and sunflower seeds and extra brown sugar and bake in the oven at 200`c for about 25-30 minutes.

  • 2 mgħaref trab taċ-ċikkulata
  • tuffieħa
  • 2 mgħaref zokkor
  • 50g ġewż mfarrak (Tesco)
  • 2 mgħaref żerriegħa tal-qara ħamra, u ftit żejda (Tesco)
  • 2 mgħaref żerriegħa tal-ġirasol, u ftit żejda (Tesco)

Method

Ibda din ir-riċetta billi xxarrab il-ħafur matul il-lejl ta qabel fi skutella bil-ħalib. L-għada, sajjar flimkien it-tamal, il-meraq tal-larinġ u nofs tazza ilma minn 3 sa 4 minuti sakemm jirtab u poġġi ġo skutella. Żid u ħallat iż-żewġ bajdiet u l-banana mgħaffġa. Żid l-ingredjenti kollha li fadal, inkluża l-ħafur mxarrba fil-ħalib taċ-ċikkulata. Poġġi f’dixx tal-forn u ifrex b’mod ugwali. Ferra’ fil-wiċċ iż-żerriegħa tal-qara’ żejda, ż-żrieragħ tal-ġirasol u z-zokkor żejjed u sajjar f’forn ta’ 200°c għal madwar 25-30 minuta.
