Barbeque flavoured sticky spare ribs

Ingredients

  • 16 large pork spare-ribs
  • 2 heaped tbsp hoisin sauce (WING YIP)
  • 1 tbsp minced ginger
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 heaped tsp chinese 5-spice
  • 2 tbsp light soy sauce (WING YIP)
  • 1 tbsp vinegar
  • You will also need toasted sesame seeds and sliced spring onion for serving.

Method

Start this recipe by cooking the spare ribs in a pan of boiling water for roughly 15 minutes. Meanwhile, prepare the sauce for the ribs by mixing together all the remaining ingredients in a small bowl. When the ribs are cooked, remove them from the pan and allow them to cool. Place the ribs on a baking tray and brush them all over with the prepared sauce. Place the ribs in the oven at 200`c, for 25-30 minutes. Turn the ribs onto their opposite side half way during cooking so that they get crispy on both sides. When the ribs are brown and crunchy on the edges, remove them from the oven and sprinkle over the toasted sesame seeds and sliced spring onions. Serve immediately

  • kuċċarina mburġata Chinese 5-spice;
  • 2 mgħaref light soy sauce (WING YIP);
  • mgħarfa ħall;
  • Għandek bżonn ukoll ftit ġunġlien inkaljat u spring onion imqattgħa roti biex isservi.

Method

Għalli l-kustilji f’borma misħun għal madwar 15-il minuta. Sadattant lesti z-zalza għal magħhom billi tħallat l-ingredjenti l-oħra kollha flimkien fi skutella żgħira. Meta l-kustilji jkunu saru, neħħihom mill-borma u ħallihom jiksħu. Poġġihom f’dixx u idlikhom sew b’din iz-zalza. Daħħalhom fil-forn f’temperatura ta’ 200oC, għal 25-30 minuta. F’nofs sajran, dawwarhom fuq in-naħa l-oħra ħalli jiġu jqarmċu miż-żewġ naħat. Meta jkunu ħmaru u t-trufijiet ikunu jqarmċu, oħroġhom mill-forn u ferrex fuqhom il-ġunġlien u l-basal.
