Quick apple tarts
Ingredients
- 1 fruit loaf (Golden harvest)
- 3 red apples
- Unsalted butter
- Ground cinnamon
- Light brown sugar
- 2 vanilla pods
Method
Heat the oven to 200°c. Core the apples, cut into quarters and slice thinly. Take 4 slices of bread, trim and cut in half to obtain 8 rectangles. Butter the bread generously and put on a baking sheet, buttered side up. Arrange the apple slices on the bread and sprinkle with the cinnamon and sugar. Dot with some more butter, cut thin strips of the vanilla pods and put on the apples. Bake for 6 minutes until the apples are just cooked and bread is toasted. Serve with ice cream or custard.
