Pilaf rice with vegetables

Ingredients
- 40g butter
- 2 tbsp olive oil (PREGO)
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 4 carrots, diced
- 400g peas
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 2 cups basmati rice
- 4 cups hot water
- salt and pepper to taste
Method
Heat the oil and butter in a large deep pan. Add the onion and cook over a medium heat until softened. Stir occasionally. Mix in the carrots and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Mix in the peas, the thyme and the rice and cook for 2 minutes, stirring frequently. Pour in the hot water, season and bring the mixture to the boil. Lower the heat and simmer for around 12 minutes or until the rice is done.

Zid il-pizelli is-saghtar u r-ross u sajjar ghal 2 minuti filwaqt li thawwad spiss. Zid il-mishun, hawwar bil-melh u bzar u halli t-tahlita tiftah tghali. Baxxi n-nar ghal moderat u halli l-pilaf isir ghal 12 l-minuta jew sakemm tara li r-ross ikun sar. Hawwad spiss.
